Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes the information Jefferson County Busted Mugshots may receive, how it is used, and when it may be shared. By using the service, you accept the practices described here.

Information You Provide

Search Queries

A name, location, or other query entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Jefferson County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Requests

If you send a message or use a contact method, we may retain the information supplied so that we can respond. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.

Automatic Technical Data

Like most websites, the service and its providers can receive routine technical data when a page loads, including:

  • Internet protocol address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
  • Referring website, when one is supplied
  • Visit dates and times

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how visitors use the service. Browser settings can block or remove cookies, though some features may work differently after they are disabled.

How Information Is Used

  • Operate, secure, and improve the service
  • Send a search request to the relevant partner tool
  • Understand which content is useful to visitors
  • Diagnose performance problems and correct technical errors
  • Display advertising that may be based on interests

External Sites and Advertising

The service links to jail rosters, booking resources, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, and outside search tools. Once you follow an outbound link, that destination's privacy policy and practices control the information it receives.

Advertising partners may collect or use activity across sites for interest-based advertising through their own systems. Their activity is governed by their policies, not this Privacy Notice.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only with the categories below when needed for the stated purpose or when the law requires it.

  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Analytics providers that help measure service use
  • Advertising networks that serve ads
  • Law-enforcement or government entities responding to a valid legal order

Security Practices

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure, so no promise can be made that unauthorized access or a security incident will never occur.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us through the Contacts page so that deletion can be considered.

Your Information Choices

  • Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
  • Ask us to delete information where appropriate
  • Opt out of certain processing where that option is available

These choices concern information handled by this private service. A request for an agency-held public record follows the agency's process under Oregon public-records law, including ORS chapter 192, and should be sent to that record holder.

Policy Changes

We may revise this Privacy Notice as the service or applicable practices change. Any revision becomes effective when posted here with its updated effective date.
